

Charles Bright Mills, Jr., age 77, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2018 in Bonita Springs, Florida. Charlie was born April 23, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles Bright and Rachel (Long) Mills. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Jane (Cole); sisters, Rachel Gherlein and Mary Neely; children, Charlie (Becky), John, and Doug (Kim) Mills; and three grandchildren, Jackson, Matthew and Graham. Charlie graduated from Marysville High School in 1958. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1962 and was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (the National Leadership Honor Society), Phi Gamma Delta (President, 1962), and the Ohio Wesleyan golf team. He earned a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law in 1965 and proudly served as a Special Agent of the FBI for seven years prior to returning to Ohio to begin his law practice. Charlie was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI and a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous where he spent significant time supporting others in their common mission. He was a longtime member of Scioto Country Club in Upper Arlington where he loved playing golf with his wife and friends. He also loved attending Ohio State football and basketball games, birdwatching, and spending time with his family and dogs. Family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Memorial donations made be made to Hope Hospice (hopehcs.org) and the Humane Society of Morrow County, PO Box 298, Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338.
