Charles David Orr

Charles David Orr, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019. David was born on March 6, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to Charles J. and Margaret M (LeRoy) Orr. He graduated from West High School. David then went to work for the Columbus Dispatch for 37 years in their mailroom. He loved camping, traveling, gardening and baking all kinds of cookies. Most of all he loved his family. David was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where his cookies were used in the prison ministries. Preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Mary Christine Sagstetter and Cathy Orr Brong; granddaughter, Nicole Finkenbinder and sister, Marjorie Ann Trickel. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Orr; children, Michael (Carrie) Orr, Karen (Larry) Roberts, Teresa Franks, Joseph (Katrinka) Orr and Matthew Orr; grandchildren, Noah Orr, Alan Orr, Tara Jepsen, Macy Reall and Erin Romig; great grandchildren, Tayah, Nicholas, Aaron, Preston, Brennan and Mabel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at HEART AND HOPE FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2364 W. Mound St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Private inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
