It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Lynette Enslen, 67, announces her passing into the hands of her Creator in the early afternoon hours on July 17th, 2021. She was born to Bette Criss and Gene Stanley Cox on August 28th, 1953 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University.
In her early years, she was an accomplished actress, and later, a manager working in the Governor's office and Department of Anaesthesia at Ohio State University. After becoming a homemaker, she would go on to volunteer at youth groups, homeless shelters, halfway homes, school offices, and international mission organizations. However, her greatest joy in life was her children.
She married Norbert "Nobby" Enslen on August, 7th 1977 and after thirteen years of prayers for children, would give birth to her daughter, Lauren, and soon thereafter, her son, Andrew.
It is impossible to adequately capture the depth of her spirit. She will be remembered for her radiant smile and elegance, for her meals, her creative spirit, and her contagious laughter. She was the model of consistency and self-sacrifice, giving everything she had to her family. Those that knew her best will remember her joyous heart - for it was one that was freely and unconditionally given, deeply concerned with others, and overflowing with the love of Christ. Her desire to be with her family was only seconded by her desire to be with her Savior, before whom she now stands.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gene Stanley Cox, her mother, Bette Criss, and her husband of 41 years, Norbert "Nobby" William Enslen Jr. She is survived by Mickey Cox sister; Shaw Nickel sister-in-law; Lauren and Jeff Lane daughter and son-in-law; Andrew Enslen son and Kristina Tumas future daughter-in-law. Visitation will be held at East Side Grace Brethren Church, 7510 East Broad Street, Blacklick, Ohio, 43004 from 5-7pm on Monday, July 26th, and service Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am with gravesite service to follow at Union Cemetery.
