

Christopher "Jack" Parsons, surrounded by his family, peacefully passed away and entered into the presence of his Heavenly Father on November 16, 2016. Jack, 87, was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia and is preceded in death by his much-loved paternal grandmother, Dora "Big Mom" Statzer Parks, who raised him from an early age and was truly his "mother" and father Christopher Clyde Parsons. Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Laura Parsons; daughter Donna South and son-in-law Larry South; son Chris Parsons; grandson Chad South and his wife Mindy; great-grandchildren Moriah, Jack, Arielle and Josiah South; brothers Jim (Lee Ann) Parsons and Paul (Janice) Parsons; nieces Leeanne Parsons Eagan and Jenny (Jim) Mosic; and nephews Jim (Michelle), Brian (Bunny) and Thom Parsons. Jack loved His Savior Jesus Christ; his family, especially his beloved Ann; his church, Grace Polaris, where he served in many capacities for over 30 years; and his country, for which he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his church, Jack and Ann supported numerous charities including Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, In Touch ministries with Pastor Charles Stanley, Right Start Ministries with Pastor James Custer, the Arthritis Foundation and various law enforcement organizations. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 20, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and the funeral service on Monday, November 21 at 10:00 am, both at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street. A graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral at Kingwood Memorial Park where Jack will be buried with military honors. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Right Start Ministries (rightstartradio.org/Donate) or the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio (alz.org/centralohio).
