

Clarence “Sonny” Landis, Jr., age 67, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his home. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 25, 1943 to the late Clarence “Shorty”, Sr. and Dorothy (Vance) Landis. Sonny was a graduate of Pleasant View High School and served in the United States Navy as well as the Air Force Reserve. He spent most of his working life as a construction worker, a job in which he greatly enjoyed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Leroy Landis II; and brother, Arthur Leroy Landis. Survivors include his children, Christopher and Teresa Landis; grandchildren, Arthur Leroy III, Christopher, Cody, Katelyn, and Michael; great granddaughter, Alonis; siblings, Brenda Bennett, Sandra Landis, Clarice “Sis” Peterman; Janice Marie (William) Skinner; and Vernie Samuel Landis; many nieces and nephews; and former wife, Eva. Sonny loved his children and grandchildren very much. He also enjoyed fishing and at one point in his life racing cars at National Trails Raceway.
