Born on September 10, 1946, in Ross County, Ohio, Clarence carried within him a steady faith, a resilient spirit, and a gentleman’s charm that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He dedicated many faithful years to the maintenance department for the State of Ohio, taking pride in honest work and the dignity it brings.
Clarence was a man of style and distinction. He delighted in dressing sharply and was rarely seen without a polished, dapper touch that reflected both his confidence and his character. His presence was marked not only by his appearance but by his warmth, kindness, and quiet perseverance.
Living with Cerebral Palsy, Clarence faced life’s challenges with courage and determination. He never allowed obstacles to define him. Instead, he rose above them with grace—building a meaningful life filled with work, friendship, and simple joys. He found delight in the smooth rhythms of Motown music, the pleasure of a well-coordinated outfit, and the everyday blessings that many overlook. He also had a tender heart for animals and especially enjoyed visiting local cat rescue organizations, where he would spend time giving gentle affection to cats waiting and hoping for a forever home. His life stands as a testament to faith, fortitude, compassion, and gratitude.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Hazel McFarland, whose love shaped the man he became.
Clarence is lovingly remembered by his devoted caregivers and dear friends, who were blessed by his gentle spirit, his perseverance, and his unmistakable sense of style.
