Born in Riverside, California and raised in San Jacinto, Clinton grew into a man defined by resilience, faith, and a deep sense of responsibility. As a young man, he played football for the San Jacinto Tigers as a linebacker and offensive lineman, proudly wearing #66. Under the mentorship of his coach, John Schouten—who would later become his father-in-law—his life found direction and purpose.
After high school, Clinton converted to the Catholic faith with the guidance of Father Marks. His faith became the foundation of his life and the center of his home, shaping the way he led his family with conviction and love.
He married his high school sweetheart, Therese Schouten, and together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and devotion to family, raising nine children: Jessica, Nathan, Seth, Ethan, Hannah, Gabriella, Anya, Eli, and William.
Clinton dedicated his life to providing for his family through many years as a meat cutter and manager, including 20 years with Stater Bros., and later with Kroger, Sprouts, and HEB. He also worked as a dairyman early in life and spent time as a truck driver. Wherever he went, he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and steady presence.
In his later years, he returned to California to care for his father-in-law, reflecting his deep loyalty to family. He faced his own illness with quiet strength and unwavering faith.
Above all, Clinton was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Therese, his nine children, and 30 grandchildren who lovingly knew him as “Opa.” His family was his greatest accomplishment and the center of his life.
A Traditional Latin Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dei in Irving, Texas. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
The family asks for continued prayers for the repose of his soul.
May he rest in the peace of Christ.
