Clyde C. Davidson

Clyde C. Davidson Jr., age 66 of Chillicothe, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born October 14, 1946 in Chillicothe, son of the late Clyde C. and Ivy G. (Hurles) Davidson. Clyde was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and went on to serve in the US Navy during Vietnam. He began his career with the US Postal Service as a Letter Carrier moving on to serve as Postmaster in Willowood, Ohio and Stoutsville, Ohio. He retired with more than 30 years of service. After his retirement from the Postal Service, he served as Caretaker of the Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Carla Lee Davidson; he is survived by his wife of 24 years Jane (Abbott) Davidson; children Wade McDowell of Circleville and Holly (Dustin) Proehl of Chillicothe; grandchildren Sara and Mara McDowell and Hope and Faith Proehl; sister Cathy Tackett of Chillicothe; niece Barkla (Kevin) Holton of Chillicothe and great nephew Logan Fout of Chillicothe.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Interment with military honors to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
