

Connie Ann Ball, age 83 of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Tuesday January 3rd at 8:30pm in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Connie was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Dorothy McNerney Giomi and Guido Giomi. Connie resided in Albuquerque through her college education from the University of New Mexico where she was a cheerleader for the Lobos and where she met her husband, Richard Ball of Columbus, Ohio. Following 2 years of service in Alaska, the couple moved to Ohio living in Cambridge, Ohio for 20 years then in Columbus for the past 27 years. Connie was an avid golfer, enjoyed entertaining, staying fit and looking good, gardening, reading and vacuuming and, was an active member of the Catholic Church. Connie was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Guido Giomi, sister, Jolene Lease and son, Keith. Connie is survived by her husband Richard Ball, children Robert, Mary (Andy) Alban and Michael (Nathan). She has 4 grandchildren including Katy (Mike) Harris, Madison Brady, Nick Froggatt and Lexie Alban and 3 great grandchildren, Taylor Grace and Lyla Harris and Maliya Ellis.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 9th at Schoedinger Funeral home Worthington, Ohio. Visitation to begin at 11am, service at 12noon. A reception to follow at the Worthington Inn on High Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to National Church Residences who provided in home hospice care for Connie in the weeks prior to her passing. Special thanks to Delina, neighbors, family and friends who provided much love, support and care to Connie over the past couple of years and through her transition.
