

Curnel Morris Elliott, age 93, was surrounded by family when he gained his wings and took flight on December 23, 2025. Curnel was born on November 8, 1932 in Indian Rock, Virginia to the late Emmett Elliott Sr. and Amanda Elliott.
Deeply missed but forever in our hearts, Curnel Elliott is survived by his loving children Sylvia Elliott, Janet Elliott, Brenda Phillips, Curnel Jr. (Turk) Elliott and his sister Lillian Coliver, and a host of family and friends. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory 28 grandchildren whom knew him as Paw Paw. He joins in the Kingdom of Heaven his parents; the beloved mother of his children Dorcas Elliott; daughters Karen and Cynthia; son in law Earnest Phillips and also preceding him in death are 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Some of Curnel’s proudest accomplishments include his career as a HR manager with COTA for over 30 years. He retired on April 1, 1996. He also served his country in the US Army and is a veteran of the Korean conflict era and peace time. Doing his due diligence from 1/26/1951 to 10/25/1957.
Known by his family as “Uncle Bunny” he has touched countless lives and made a difference for those around him by demonstrating hard work, discipline, and perseverance. Outside of his occupation and duties, he could be found enjoying the weather on his front porch, while partaking in peanuts and Anthony Thomas buttercream candy. Uncle Bunny enjoyed quality family time but especially social gathering and eating. His favorite dish being macaroni and cheese. Some of his hobbies included taking photographs, playing bingo, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Those who knew Curnel will remember him for his gentle spirit, generosity, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, charm, and deep-rooted faith in Jesus.
A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 9, 2026 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where visitation will be from 11am -1pm with the funeral starting at 1pm. Burial will following at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio with military honors.
