

Curtis Timothy Crowder, age 52, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 22, 2019 at home. He was born on August 7, 1966 in Columbus to the late Curtis and Shirley Ann (Dalton) Crowder. Curtis served in the US Army Reserves. He was previously a retail manager in the food industry and custodian. Curtis was an avid reader; books and movies were his friends as he got older. He enjoyed spending game day with friends and family. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Curtis enjoyed cooking especially grilling and sharing food. It was said he made the best Bar-B-Que Ribs around. He enjoyed fishing with his family and dreamed of growing old with his wife, Kathy, in North Carolina. Curtis was a big kid at heart and was a good friend once he got to know you and brought you into his world. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Newsome) Crowder whom he married in April 1990 in Columbus; his four daughters as he would say "they are my world," Kayla (Timothy) Machovina of Marysville, Ohio; Calli Shae Crowder and her fiancé Ben Cook of Texas, Devan Rae Skyye Crowder of Marysville, Ohio, and Danielle Bree Crowder of Marysville, Ohio; grandchildren, Kailee and Leo Machovina of Marysville, Ohio; brother, Jayjuan (Ronni) Crowder of California; sister, Jiri Crowder of Virginia; nieces and nephews Mariah (Steven) Wolf of Georgia, Jamie Crowder of California, Michael Crowder of Newport Beach, California, Marlayna (Christopher) Goosby, and Niki Batts. Family will receive 2-4 pm Friday, March 1, 2019 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the memorial service will begin at 4 pm with Celebrant Andrew Hoover.
