

Cynthia Helen Prebus, 65, of Upper Arlington died on November 11th, 2016 in Dublin, Ohio after a long illness. Predeceased by her parents Albert F. Prebus and Helen M. Prebus and brothers John M. Prebus, and Donald L. Prebus. Thia attended The University School, graduated from Upper Arlington High School (class of 1969), and The Ohio State University (class of 1973). She received her PhD in Art History from Rutgers University in 1994. Thia then took care of her parents in their final years while teaching art history part time at Wittenberg College. To make ends meet, she then trained as a legal secretary and worked 12 years in 2 downtown Columbus law firms before her increasing illness made it impossible for her to work further. Thia spent her last hears devoted to her art. She was an accomplished artist in a variety of media mastering watercolor, jewelry, and the textile arts. She was inspired by the beauty in the world and brought this out in her many works of art. She is survived by her brother Allen A. Prebus (Suzanne) and her nephews and nieces, Sol Prebus (Audrey), Peter Prebus (Marianne), Matthew Prebus (Hazel), Laura Livingston (Michael), and Olivia Prebus (Adeka).
