

Dan Stewart Rasche, age 94 of Dublin, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017. Dan was born and raised in New Philadelphia, Ohio, son of the late Charlotte and George Rasche, Jr. Also preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Herzog and brother, Richard Rasche. Dan attended Wittenberg College before proudly enlisting in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his return home from the Army, Dan graduated from Case University with a BS Civil Engineering in June 1949, and a MS Civil Engineering in June 1950. Throughout Dan's career, he held various leadership positions. He retired as Director of Plant Operations with Grant Hospital, and worked previously as Director of Buildings and Grounds with Riverside Hospital, Grant Rasche Engineers and was construction superintendent on various projects around Columbus, including Riverside, Upper Arlington HS, OEA, an Ohio Bell and the Beacon Building. Above all else, family was most important to Dan and he truly cherished the time spent together. Dan will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary Rasche; sons, Dale (Cynthia), Thad (Diana), and J. Mark (Susan) Rasche; son-in-law, Michael (Barbara) Herzog; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, J. David of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Marjorie Rasche of Galveston, TX; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial gathering celebrating Dan's life will be held at 2 P.M.
