October 3rd, 2023. He was born on November 19th, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated
from Central High School in 1966 , immediately joined the Army where he served as a Sgt.
during the Vietnam War and worked for several years afterwards in the sheet metal industry.
Danny was a naturalist at heart and was willing to share his knowledge of plants and animals
with those who wanted to learn. He touched people with his good nature and off-color humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Alice (Cook) Collins; brother and partner in
mischief, Dennis J. Collins; beloved dogs Majic, Mystic, Melbourne, Shade and part-time tenant
Cosmo. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Judith F. (Jones) Collins; brother, Thomas D.
(Deborah) Collins; sister-in-law, Cathy (Hix) Collins; brother-in-law, Robert L. (Dina) Jones; best
friend and constant companion, Rowan; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Danny will
be cremated and his ashes spread at a later date. Contributions can be made in Danny’s
memory to the Franklin County Dog Shelter, the Capital Area Humane Society or any charity
that benefits animals. Cremation services were provided by Schoedinger Hilltop 3030 W.Broad
