

Mr. Daniel Owen Dugan, 49, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in Nashville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Schoedinger-North Chapel with Pastor Mike Welch officiating. Burial will be private. A native of Canton, OH, Mr. Dugan was a son of Daniel Ronald Dugan and Mary Jane Nolte Dugan of Quaker City, OH. He was formerly employed with Ashland, Inc for over 20 years and then went into business for himself under D&D Consulting and Construction in Rock Hill. He was a very passionate hunter, fisher and outdoors person; and very devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Danielus and Irene Dugan and his maternal grandparents Owen and Mary Elizabeth Nolte. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melvia Roberts Dugan of the home; his son, Kenneth Van Horne and his wife, Jennifer of Rock Hill; his daughter, Kimberly Cotten and her husband, Jason of Rock Hill; his brothers, Tom Dugan of New Albany, OH, John Dugan of French Town, MT and Jared Dugan of Quaker City, OH; his sisters, Deborah Dugan of Quaker City, OH and Terry Dugan of Zanesville, OH; his beloved cousin and best friend, Doug Dugan of Powell, OH; five grandchildren, Kyler Scott, Ka'Leigh Danielle, Jacy Elizabeth, Lauren Olivia and Justin Philip; numerous nieces and nephews; and many adopted, beloved friends. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER-NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Dugan's name to Saint Jude's Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
