passed away peacefully at Brown
Memorial on August 19, 2016
with his daughter, Ruth Ann
Galbraith and loving sister,
Marcele Bowen, by his side.
Dan was born in Ripley, Ohio
on July 20, 1927. After graduation
from Ripley Union High School,
he drove truckloads of grain from
farms in Brown County and Ripley
Ohio to the dealers and mills in
Cincinnati. He was a night watchman,
meat cutter and school maintenance
worker. He was also a volunteer
fireman for 25 years and never lost
his desire to help others. In 2000, Dan
made his home in Circleville, Ohio
where he quickly became a legend on
his three-wheeled bicycle riding around
town volunteering his time at the Canal
Park, the Historical Society and wherever
he saw an opportunity. At his home at
Brown Memorial, he raised a garden while
nurturing his love for the outdoors.
When asked “How are you?”, Dan always
enthusiastically responded, “I’m Peachy”!
Dan was predeceased by his parents Nick
and Ruth (Neel) Germann of Ripley and
three sisters, Annella, Susan and Gwen.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Ruth Ann
(Ken) Galbraith of Mt. Orab, grandchildren,
