David Peter Cimarolli

David Peter Cimarolli, also known as "Pops" and "Cimmy", passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 in Cudjoe Key, Florida. Dave had just fallen in love with this little piece of paradise where he intended to live out his retirement. Days before his passing, he said "my soul is at home here".

Dave was born on February 9, 1951, in Washington, Pennsylvania. The son of the late John and Clementina Cimarolli. Dave is survived by his son, Gabriel Cimarolli; grandsons Dominic and Roman; sister Madeline Lis; and many nieces and nephews, all from the Pittsburgh area. Dave also leaves behind his beloved "Girls", Molly and Lucy, as well as many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, and brother, John.

Dave graduated from Avella High School in 1969, and was a graduate from Ohio University. Before college, Dave was a painter, an iron worker, a real estate agent, and he also played bass in the heavy metal band Trackdown in the 80's. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, Mopar Autosports, the music of AC/DC, and spending time with his son and grandsons.

In his late 20's, his dream of becoming a pilot came true when he decided to attend Ohio University. His aviation career included Crown Airways, Causey Racing, Fight Safety Academy, and eventually finding his way to his home at NetJets, where he worked for over 20 years before having to slow down due to health issues. NetJets wasn't just a job to Dave, often referring to those he worked alongside with as "my pilots". They were more than just coworkers, they were part of his family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 from 4 to 7PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio. Dave's wishes were to have a "party" in his memory, so there will be a social gathering after the visitation from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at LaNavona Event Center at 154 North Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio.
