

Dean N. Williams, age 85, of Upper Arlington, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born to the late Nathan and Helen Williams in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 31, 1927. He grew up in Belle Plaine, Iowa, went on to receive his PhD from the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri, then served in the Army in the Peace Keeping Forces in Japan in 1947. He returned to Columbus, Ohio to work for Battelle in metallurgic engineering for 35 years. Dean was a longtime member of Northwest United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending his free time fly fishing, traveling, attending Elderhostels, reading, dancing, and being with his family. He also found time to deliver for Meals on Wheels for 25 years. Dean is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 64 years, Patsy (Janss); children, Deana Carol (M. Keith) Jones and Daniel Janss (Jamie Mary) Williams; grandchildren, David (Alexis) Jones, Greg (Liz) Jones, Julie Jones; great-grandchildren,William and Matthew; brothers, Nathan (Pat) Williams and David (late Barbara) Williams; and extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Road where the family will receive friends from 5pm until the time of service. Rev.
