Deborah Jane "Debbie" Christian

Deborah J. "Debbie" (Orwig) Christian. On March 5, 2016 our hero passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She fought a long, hard battle with MS, but continued to stay strong and steady, with her eyes always focused on The Lord. She was loved by many; always compassionate and caring. She was tender-hearted with a radiant smile and much joy. Debbie retired after 28 years of loyal service to The Ohio State University in the Research Foundation, and she was a member of the Genoa Baptist Church. Debbie was a spiritual, loving and caring woman who will be deeply missed by her husband of 40 years John; daughter Lesley (Andrew) Shindle; three grandchildren Maddy, Michael and Graysen; step son Shawn Christian; step grandchildren Aidan and Connor Christian; brother Dave (Carole) Orwig; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Marilyn (Holzbacher) Orwig. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Debbie's life on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 3-7 pm at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10am at the Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville, with Pastor Frank Carl officiating.
