

Delores Elizabeth Hackett born September 8,1934 the 5th of 8 children to the late Elder Clarence and Lelia Mae Harris in Columbus, Ohio. Delores was a graduate of Columbus East High School.
The joy of her life came from her family. She loved spending time with her daughter’s Brenda Clark-Griffin (deceased), Sharon Clark and grandsons Sheldon Weaver, Joshua Griffin and Mark Dandridge. She was married to Herman Hackett Jr. for 49 years until he departed this life January 18, 2020. She worked 30 years for the State of Ohio, retiring from the Department of Public Safety.
Delores accepted the lord as her savior and was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the precious Gift of the Holy Ghost at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith under the pastorate of the late Elder Ernest Hardy. Sister Hackett sang in the Senior Choir, she enjoyed teaching her eighth grade Sunday school class and children's church.
She was an avid sports fan. She loved to watch any and all sports! Her favorite sport was basketball. She loved the Chicago Bulls (circa Michael Jordan) and the Los Angeles Lakers (circa Magic Johnson).
Delores is preceded in death by Parents Elder Clarence and Lelia Mae Harris; Husband Herman Hackett; Daughter Brenda Clark-Griffin. She leaves to honor her legacy: daughter Sharon Clark; grandsons, Sheldon Weaver, Joshua Griffin and Mark Dandridge ll and sister in law Patricia Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11am until 12pm on Friday, February 11, at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Ave, Columbus, OH 43219. A homegoing service will follow immediately at 12pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTH.
