In the same way, the Spirit help us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words can not  express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Gods will.

Lit a candle in memory of Denise A Nelson

I am presently married to Brad Beal and have heard many great stories about Denise through Brad Beal and Malisa Pyle.  She was such a great friend and person to them!  She will be such a beautiful angel to watch over you and the children!  I want you to know even though I have never met her or your family your in my thoughts and prayers. My favorite memory of Denice is a very unique moment that will never be repeated.  I was about 6 or 7 years old, and Denise and I were in Taco Bell drive through just about dusk. The sky was a bright coral pink and orange that looked like an oil painting in the horizon.  Denise put her hand across my face and gently pulled my face to look into her eyes and whispered, "Don't ever forget this exact moment in time, look at the sky and at me and never forget."  There were few instances throughout my childhood when Denise and John would say very similar lines to make me remember a significant moment in time, such as a rainbow, sunset, or shooting stars.  These memories live in my mind as beautiful paintings as vivid as if I had seen them yesterday.
     Denise 's personality was rare.  She was a very outgoing, and outspoken person.  If she didn't agree with you, she would let you know.  She let me know many times in my life.  At the same time she was a conservative, Christian who stood for what she believed in.  Denise was a God fearing, and God loving woman, who taught her children and me to follow her example.
     I cannot think of Denise without thinking of the verses John 3:16-18;
     "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  
     For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
     Whoever believes in him is not condemned.  But whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." 
     Denise not only believed Jesus was the Son of God.  She expressed her love for Jesus often to me.  Without Denise I would not have the relationship with God that I have today.  Any time I have struggled in life Denise's answer to my problem was always prayer.
     Denise loved her husband, John, and her children, Joshua, and Hannah very much.  To Denise, family was everything and she devoted her life to taking care of her babies.
     Denise and John were married July 3rd 1991 during Red, White and Boom in downtown Columbus, beneath the Union Station arch surrounded by family and friends.  I have often looked at Denise and John's relationship as a model for my own life because no matter how mad they could get at each other they still loved each other dearly and held God at the center of their family.  I remember being a child, how much I loved to eat dinner at their house because they prayed before eating each eventing.   
     Denise and John's prayers were answered in February of 2000 when they were blessed with a healthy baby boy, who they named Joshua Kevin Nelson.  Denise told me then that she would do any and every thing in her power to protect him.  Less that two years later in June of 2001 Denise and John were blessed with miracle number two, a beautiful baby girl named, Hannah Aleigha Nelson.  Denise's children were her world, and she told me every day how happy she was to have her babies.  
     To me Denise was just an aunt but she was so much more.  Most of all she was my best friend.  
     Denise fought a long and hard battle with cancer.  She often told me her inspiration to keep going was her husband, and children.  I can honestly stand here today and say the Denise gave every thing she had to beat the odds.  Sadly the life of Denise Ann Nelson that began October 1st 1968 ended March 13th 2010, when she returned home to be with the lord.
     I would like to share some verses that has been comforting to me this week, John 14: 1-4;
     "Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.
     In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I am going to prepare a place for you.
     And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
     You know the way to the place where I am going."

Denise was a devoted and loving Mother,wife and sister. We will all miss her. She has touched so many lives. Our love and prayers go out to her husband John and children Joshua and Hannah. All of us that she left behind will greatly miss her but will one day be reunited with her in Heaven. For as the Lord promised in His word: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John3:15-17

This reminds me of Denise..of something she might have said..

Although my leaving causes pain and grief, 
my going has eased the hurt and given me relief.

with a smile. Understand I've gone to rest awhile. 
As long as I have the love of each of you, I will 
live in the hearts of all of you.

Denise is truly beautiful! I like to think when one leaves this earthly present it is only change to life more abundantly.John,Joshua,and Hannah, I may not have ever had the pleasure to know you,but I send you a hug and my condolence for your physical loss,even if her spirit is soaring free.Denise will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her.To my sister, Shirley and brother-in-law,Dencil I love you both and may God be with you through this trying time.To my niece,Tammy and nephews,Dwayne,Gary,and Dennis,my heart goes out to you and may God bless you for you are truly loved and I'm sorry for your loss of your sister,Denise.I loved her when she was little and still feel that love.I am truly sad that this day has come.
