Dewey (John D.) Henize, age 68, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was born on September 12, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH to the late John Dwight and Louise (Kress) Henize. Dewey was a retired computer networking engineer with 30 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and participating in renaissance festivals all over the country. Dewey was an avid reader, master scuba diver, and enjoyed caring for his outdoor cat, Char. He was also a member of Omnipresent Atheists. In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his brother, James. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Sharon (Selfridge) Henize; daughter, Kathryn (Troy) Bell; granddaughters, Sylvia and Kate Bell; sister, Jean (Bill) Neuenswander; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 11 am until 3 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Americans United for Separation of Church and State www.au.org.
