

Don L. Walden, age 67 of Gahanna, passed away at home Saturday, July 11, 2015. Don was born and raised in Columbus. Preceded in death by parents, William and Laura Walden, and siblings, Betty Jane Blevins, Charles "Sonny" Walden, Julia Ann Tschumper, Rose Marie Thompson, and Ken Walden. After high school, Don was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served his country overseas in Germany. He graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from Franklin University and was a member of Alpha Rho Epsilon, a chapter of Phi Pheta Kappa. Don retired from Huntington Bank where he worked as an underwriter. He was a member of the American Banking Association and VFW # 9857. Don was a bold, funny and ornery man who truly had a loving heart. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Buckeyes. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Natalie Walden; children, Shellie (Shon) Cook, Tod (Jackie) White, Kelley (Gary) Nixon, and Donn (Jennifer) Walden; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Marian (John) Eck; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
