

Donald Harrison Bergen born December 3, 1940, Canton, Ohio entered heaven November 16, 2018. He was the son of Paul and Wilma Bergen. Don earned a master's degree in organic chemistry from Ohio University and worked for 37 years as a chemical analyst at Chemical Abstracts Service. He was active in his church and many ministries including Athletes in Action, Prison Fellowship Ministries, and Center of Hope in Columbus. He served as the Columbus Clippers' Baseball Chapel coordinator for over 30 years. Don prioritized family, service, and ministry and embodied compassion to all who knew him. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching westerns, sports, and old comedy. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Bergen, and their children Amy, Mark, and Sarah. Also survived by his daughter, Melissa (John) Waller, grandchildren Bradley Waller, Ashley (Kevin) Young, and great grandchildren Jillian and Robbie Waller. Don's celebration service will be held at 5:30 PM at Living Hope Free Methodist Church, 4142 Westerville Road. Visitation will be held from 3 PM - 5 PM and following the service.
