Donald E. Fortner, age 82, of Pickerington, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He attended Central High School and served in The U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald retired from The Kroger Company, where he had been a warehouse supervisor. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Charlotte Fortner. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Jerry (Susan) Fortner and Julie (John) Daniel; grandchildren, Renee, Melissa, Joey, Chad, Tim, Paul, Troy, and Marilyn; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, David, Bob, and Jerry Fortner, and Carol Fann; many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Avenue, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street, Fr. Michael Lumpe Celebrant; interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
