

Donald William Gordon, age 88, of Columbus, died Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. Don was born August 3, 1927 in Waverly, OH, son of the late William and Irene (Fisher) Gordon. He retired as a mechanical engineer with the Ohio Department of Transportation following 35 years of service. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn (Rankey); daughter and son-in-law, Diana Gordon and Tim Wagoner; son Dennis Gordon; his beloved grandchildren, Faith (Matt) Robinson, Coryn (Nick) Robson and Mark (Kristina) Wagoner; his great-grandchildren, Brodyn, Emery, Annabelle, Elisha and Jeremiah. Also survived by his sister, Ramona Keefer and brother-in-law, Donald (Ruth Ann) Rankey, nieces, nephews and many friends. Don was a graduate of Franklin University and a veteran of World War II U.S. Navy. He was a 50 year member of Northwest United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the "Honey Doers". Don enjoyed fishing and vacations with his friends from church. Friends may call 10:00- 11:00 am Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Dr., where funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday.
