

Donald Martin Hippler, age 78, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016. He was born April 9, 1937 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Martin and Anna (Wechter) Hippler. He was a proud alumnus of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School, Sandusky, Ohio. Don served 6 years of his life in the National Guard. He later worked his way up from being an apprentice meat cutter to owning and operating The Country Meat Shoppe on Hague Avenue. Don was an avid basketball enthusiast and enjoyed scouting games all over the state of Ohio. He loved keeping basketball statistics and could recall statistics and players from many years ago. He was also known for his special large Christmas bags that he gave every year to his kids and grandkids. Don was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and former member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hippler. Don is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha (Arntz) Hippler; children, Nancy (John) Bernans, Joseph (Sherry) Hippler, and Julie (Matthew) Freeman; his cherished grandchildren; John Ryan, Jessica, Jacob, Michael, Benjamin, Luke, Maxwell, Eva, Makenna, and Amelia; brothers, James (Anita) Hippler and Eugene (Ann) Hippler; sister, Mary Ann Hippler; sister in law, Judy Hippler; and many dear friends. Visitation will be held 9:30 - 11:30am Monday, February 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Fr. Dan Millisor and Fr Jim Colopy will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don's memory may be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Guardian Angel Tuition Assistance Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel.
