Donald James Hunter, 82, of Galena, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026. He was born May 8, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Helen (Power); brothers Francis (“Tip”) and David; sister Patricia (Smith); and his beloved wife of 52 years, Becky (Suttner). He is survived by his sister Joy (Dolan); children Todd (Tracie) Hunter, Daniel Hunter, and Brian Hunter; and grandchildren Brendan, Mara, Jackie, and Alex Hunter.
Donald was a 1961 graduate of Saint Aquinas High School and served his country in the Army for six years. Donald was the owner of the Stoffel Equipment Company for 40 years and developed many wonderful business associates and colleagues over that time. He developed a passion for golf, which also led to many close friendships. Donald was a devoted father who was actively involved in supporting the activities of his three sons, whether as a coach, spectator, or mentor.
