Donald E. Jones, age 88, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at home. Donald was born on October 18, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Daniel and Rachel (McCurdy) Jones. He proudly served his county in the US Army.
Don worked for Borden’s Ice Cream for 43 years and was the Maintenance Supervisor for 33 of those years. He enjoyed NASCAR and demolition derby’s in his younger years. After retirement he liked to go shooting, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took extraordinary care of Brian. Preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Jones; son, Scott Jones; his parents; brother, Ray and sisters, Ethel and Louise. Survived by his children, Thomas Jones, Kathleen (Frank) Brown and Darren “Mike” (Barbara) Jones; grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Ashley, Michelle, Krystal, Brandy, Chelsea, Amanda and Daniel; great grandchildren, Kyle, Evelyn, Zoey, Carter, Colton, Jessa, Mason, Aubrey, JC and Leona; many other family members and friends. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Heart and Hope by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204.
A private interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
