

Donald Lee Shifflet, age 71, of Columbus “went to be with his baby girl” on July 7, 2014. He served in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. Don worked for Columbus Coated Fabrics for over 25 years and formerly owned and operated Mama Mia’s Pizza. He was a Past-President of the Linden Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2252, and a member of Souix Tribe # 128, Improved Order of Red Men and American Legion Post 614. He will be remembered for the colorful nicknames he gave to those around him and his sense of humor. He is preceded in death by infant daughter, Dionne; parents, Paul and Dorothy; and brothers, Dale and Darrell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mable; daughters, Darla (Kelly) Housley, Dawn Ator, and Diane (Mark) McAllister; grandchildren, Deanne “Rupert Jane”, Donald, Douglas, Dustin, Devin, Derrick, Danielle, and Markie; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, David, Daniel (Shirley), and Dennis (Theresa) Shifflet; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER LINDEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2741 Cleveland Avenue; private service and interment at a later date.
