We were blessed to have Donnie for three years after he was told he had cancer of the lung and bone.  He amazed me with his strength to continue working until June of 2012 and by taking a couple of fishing trips with Danny.    I would like to thank the people who prayed for Donnie these last three years.    Donnie will be missed at family gatherings.

I am a first cousin for the Tagg side of the family, my name was Karen Tagg; my Dad was Ona Tagg, brother to Donald Sr. We have unfortunately lost touch with this side of the family. My mother is Betty Tagg, sister in law to Donald Sr. She will be 83 in July. She has what I believe is a guest book from Donald Sr's funeral service. We are very sorry to hear of Donnie's passing; not sure if Donnie had cancer, but it took almost all of his aunts & uncles including my Dad. Most of you will remember our grandparents Della & Clarence Tagg; I still think of them very often & their farm; I was born in their house on Greasy Ridge.

Again, on behalf of my mother, Betty & myself, our deepest sympathies.

That big largemouth bass that Donnie is holding was caught a few years back in Lake St. Francis near Sebring Florida. It was 25 inches long, probably the largest fish that Donnie caught in his lifetime.  Sure made his day! It was released unharmed. He almost always would catch bigger fish than I would. I had to concentrate on quantity just to keep up with Donnie and not look too bad. He believed in basics and I was alwoys trying something new that usually didn't work. Anyway, it was fun fishing with him over the years and I enjoyed his company. Since he has been sick our fishing trips have tapered off and I fish alone or with my son or grandsons. His last fishing trip with me was last June at Hoover. It was a windy-cool day and we only caught a few fish. Probably kept him out longer than I should have. And I forgot to put a memory card in the camera so no pictures. The trip in May we done better at Alum Creek, caught some slab crappies at our secret fishing hole. See attached pictures.

I am so sorry to hear about Don. My heart goes out to his family. I worked with Don for several years. He was an honorable man and taught me a lot. It was always a pleasure to talk to him. With you I look forward to the fulfillment of these words from the Bible:  
(Revelation 21:4? "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

My condolences to the family.  I worked with "Tag" for ten years and he was a very helpful teammate. I looked forward to seeing him when in the office. I just wish he could have fished more.
