Doris Jane Cease May

Doris “Dot” Jane May (nee Cease), age 91, of Circleville, OH passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Logan Elm Healthcare Center. She was born March 7, 1920 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late John Jasper and Virgil (Ockerman) Cease. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. May; sister, Joan Williams and brothers, Eugene and William Cease. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Dot was a former member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Clement Evans Chapter, Tulsa, OK where she first belonged to the Tulsa Chapter. She was a member for over 50 years. She also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and had retired from the U.S. Treasury Dept.-I.R.S. Dot will be remembered as an excellent cook; especially for her wonderful holiday meals! She is survived by her children, Robert May of Fredericksburg, VA, Sandra May (Charles) Tengowski of Bridgeport, WV and Beverly May of Columbus, OH; grandson, Shaun Tengowski of Kingsland, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-4pm Sunday, March 20, 2011 at The Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; Fr. William P. Hahn, Celebrant; interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
