Born in Johnson City, TN, attended Tennessee State College, and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the NU Honor Society. She was a long-time, devoted, and faithful member of Faith Ministries Church, Columbus. OH.
Mrs. Shields retired from DCSC and became a Daycare provider for many children. She loved to travel with her senior group, playing bingo and Pokeno.
She is survived by her sons, Stuart (Beverly) and Lance Shields. She was a loving and proud grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Special friends Mrs. Glenda Gilbert, Mrs. Alma Carter, Denise White, and many of her Bingo and Pokeno friends.
Services will be on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Faith Ministries Church, 2747 Agler Rd, Columbus, OH. The final viewing will be held at 9:00 AM at the church.
