Doris Elizabeth Swingle

Doris Elizabeth Swingle age 81 passed into eternal life Sunday, March 14, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born September 12, 1928 in Thurman, OH to the late Gomer and Gladys Davis. She was Valedictorian of the 1946 class of Bloomfield High School and has been a faithful attendant of the annual Alumni Association. She loved shopping with her daughters and took pride in her home and cooking. She was very fashion conscience and collected poetry. Among her passions were music and baking chocolate birthday cakes for her grandchildren that she adored. Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Waldo L., Leland K., and Thomas M. Davis. She brought love and laughter into everyones life. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Harold of sixty years whom she married February 11, 1950, her daughters Vicki (Larry) Miller, Pamela Swingle, Patricia (Bill) Merryman, six grandchildren Geoff Miller, Nick (Amanda) Miller, Lyndsey, Amy, Jenny and Kara Merryman, sisters Mildred L. Davis and Janice M. Davis, sister-in-law Laverne Davis, special nephew Jerry (Nancy) Davis and family, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270) where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM.
