Dorothy Louise Appleton, age 86, formerly of New Albany, passed away Monday afternoon on January 11, 2010. She was born August 2, 1924 in New Albany, Ohio to William and Josephine Garner. Dorothy could brighten your day with a smile. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and would do everything in her power to help them if she could. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis E. Appleton Jr.; daughter, Beverly Ricketts; and sister, Mildred Souder. She is survived by her sister, Annabell Cook; daughter, Carol Duke; grandchildren, Troy (Susan) Duke and Danielle (Aaron) VanRiper; and great-grandchildren, Micheala, Mary, Jacob, and Jocelynn. To all her family left behind, she loves you back. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd.
