Dorothy "Ruth" Travis George

Dorothy “Ruth” Travis George was born in Columbus on June 22, 1931 and passed away on July 5, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Lewis “Dick” and Dorothy “Barber” Travis. She married Robert on September 10, 1950 and was married for 61 years. Dorothy retired from Harts Warehouse, where she worked from 1971 to 1991. She was a longtime member of North Park Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her great grandchild, Jadyn Sanders, and sister, Nancy Baker. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Brenda (Danny) Williamson, Carol (Bob) Kinney and Mark (Brenda Spaulding) George; grandchildren, Scott (Kimberly) Williamson, Amy (Lance) Jones, Kevin (Katerina) Williamson, Curtis (Nancy) Kinney, Michelle (Rhett) Ketter, Rob Kinney, Amanda (Curtis) Sanders, Sarah (Chuck) Parks, Bethany (Josh) Franey, and Travis George; step-grandchildren, Trish (Glenn) Rohal, Michael (Kim) Kinney, and Tracey (Dave) White; 13 great grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren; brothers, Chuck (Marylou) Travis, and Gordon (Connie) Travis. Friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl RD. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the North Park Church of Christ, 4938 Westerville Rd., Columbus , OH. Minister Steve Petty officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
