Dorothy Gilbert

Dorothy Mae Gilbert, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. She was born in Harrisburg, Penn., on November 21, 1928, to the late Cortney and Ida Staley. In 1951, Dorothy married Albert Harold Gilbert, and was a homemaker and military wife. She taught bowling lessons to children for over 20 years at Gahanna Lanes. Dorothy loved watching her grandchildren play baseball, and she never missed a game. She enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, and she loved meeting her friends once a month for lunch. She was a member of Easton Community Church. Dorothy is survived by her children, Harold E. (Pam) Gilbert and their children, Phillip W. (Beth) and Greg (Shannon) Gilbert; and David W. (Kathy) Gilbert and their children, B.J. and James; brother, Thomas Woods; and best canine friend, Chi. The family wishes to thank the staff of HomeReach Hospice for their wonderful care. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery, 3840 Sunbury Road.
