Dorothy Marie Tunila, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Kobacker House. Dorothy was born on December 3, 1937 in North Royalton, Ohio to Louis and Martha Walz. She worked for the State of Ohio Department of Transportation as a Planner. Dorothy was a member of Prairie Township Community Center, of Lutheran Faith, an advocate of Bull Dog Rescue, an expert target shooter, and a lover of the outdoors. Preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Martha Walz; sisters, Grace Randall and Joan Bernard; and nephew, Bill Logsdon. Survived by her son, Scott Tunila; granddaughters, Lenae (Collin) Hott and Celena (Reston) Tunila-Randall; great-grandson, Henry Hott; nephew, Bruce (Amy) Bernard; great-nieces and nephew, Michelle (Avalos), Melissa, Monika and Matthew, Logsdon; niece-in-law, Katherine Logsdon; many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 where funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
