

Douglas was born January 7,1947 in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert M. and Mary Jane (Carpentier) Hill. A 1964 graduate of Buchtel High School, Akron, he went on the The Ohio State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry Division in Cu Chi, Vietnam,1968 and 1969 earning a Bronze Star with Oak leaf cluster.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marylou Helt,their daughter,Melinda (David) Allen and two granddaughters, Amanda and Lauren of Denver,Colorado,brothers Robert J. (Sara) Hill of Oregon and Donald A. (Joan) Hill of Minnesota, and sister in law,Margaret Wolffrum of Ohio and their families. In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his sister in law Alice (Bossen) HilL
He obtained his Certified Public Accountant license while at Haskins and Sells (Deloitte and Touche) going on to specialize in Real Estate Development with Sisson & Stern and Homewood Corporation in Columbus,Ohio, RGC, Inc. of Newport Beach, California and most recently as Chief Financial Officer at The Edwards Companies of Columbus, Ohio.
As a lifetime member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Douglas enjoyed attending and supporting both the football and basketball Buckeyes.
A memorial Celebration of life will be held May 16,2015 at 3PM at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, 6699 North High Street with Andrew Hoover,Celebrant,officiating. Private committal of the urn will be held prior at The Dublin Cemetery.
