Earl worked for PICCA for more than 26 years and had also delivered the Circleville Herald for many years. He was a huge OSU fan and would go through the PICCA building on Fridays to make sure everyone had their OSU shirts on. His co-workers were accustomed to Earl calling them by the pet name “Floppy”. Earl looked forward to watching Gunsmoke each day after work and also watching the WWE.
