

A celebration of life service for Rev. Edgel B. “Buck” Bevins 80, of Grove City, Ohio, will be held on Friday August 27, 2010 at 11:00am, at the Schoedinger East Chapel 5360 Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Buck was born on October 7, 1929 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to the late Marvin and Dora (Shortridge) Bevins. Buck enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. On September 5, 1953 Buck married the Love of his life, Miss Helen L. Dotson, and they celebrated over 56 years together. Buck worked for General Motors for over 34 years, but his second career as an Evangelist and Pastor was his ministry. Serving in the Pulpit for over 50 years in the Columbus area, he is responsible for hundreds of people coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. A wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his loving wife Helen, survivors include his children; Brenda (Desi) Gentzel of New Straitsville, Butler “J.R.” (Tina) Bevins of Columbus, Nancy (William) Beaver-Bibbey of Grove City, Patricia (Chuck) Redding of Grove City, Michael Bevins of Grove City, Sam Bevins of Grove City; grandfather and great grandfather of 51; brother of Fern, Doris, Shelby Jean, Frank, Betty, and Chuck.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jimmy.
Family and Friends may call at the Schoedinger East Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and on Thursday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.
