Edna Florene Prater

Edna F. Prater, age 71, of Columbus, Ohio passed away July 31, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Grove City. Edna was born March 5, 1949 in Boyd County, Kentucky to Viola (Reffett) and John Ramey. She retired from Mt. Carmel West Hospital where she worked as a nursing technician. In her retirement years, she worked for Kroger giving out samples. All the young folks working at Kroger loved her and looked out for her safety. Edna and her late husband Jessie loved going to thrift stores and garage sales. Anyone who knew Edna knew that she was an excellent cook and that there would always be a pot of coffee on. In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by her son, James Ronald Prater and her brother John Charles Ramey. She is survived by her son, Michael Edward Prater; sisters Beulah "Faye" Bowling and Zola Elizabeth "Dot" Wheeler; extended family and friends. Friends may call 10-11am Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. State St., Columbus; where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am.
