

A friend of liberty, upholder of American ideals, caring significantly for people that sacrificed much to provide us all our continued blessings and a productive country, passed 10-9-2014 in Hospice Columbus. Ed was raised in Grosse Pont MI graduated both Culver and Otterbein, attended Univ Michigan and Eastern Michigan served honorably in the Army with European assignments. Born 1936 Ed was an early skilled computer programmer and systems analyst working with GE and Honeywell internationally.
A pilot, race car photographer, driving enthusiast, avid traveler, several times a congressional candidate and a long time soccer referee Ed participated in a robust life.
Ed’s first wife Janet Marie Logan, while divorced from Ed many years past, found mutual pleasure in their shared companionship the past many years. As Ed’s health declined Janet was always caringly by his side assuring companionship comfort and then quality medical care and treatments well suited for Ed. Catherine Brown Ed’s sister and only surviving relative had the opportunity to share time with Ed during recent visits.
A tribute remembrance and toast will be scheduled and announced through the soccer referees association. All will be invited. Ed has been a proponent of awarding scholarships to athletes that excel in Sportsmanship as being even more important than winning or exceptional playing skills.
