

Edwin H. King, age 63, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. He was born on February 17, 1948, in New London, Ohio, where he graduated from New London High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from Marietta College and retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. after 38 years of service as an actuary. Ed was a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries. He loved the game of backgammon and jet skiing. Ed is survived by his wife, Melissa King; daughter, Alyssa King (Mandy Cook); sisters, Merle Blair, Velma Young, Kathy (Tom) Babbit, Dora Miller, and Lois Riggs; brothers, Errol (Nancy) King, and Elvin (Joyce) King; and beloved Siamese kitties, Tai and Joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Evert and Myrtle King; and brothers, Charles Ernest King, Erman King, Edgar King, and Elton King. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin Granville Road, New Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church, Fr. Jerome P. Rodenfels, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to HomeReach Hospice, 180 E.
