Elfriede Erika Maria Taylor

Elfriede Erika Maria Taylor, age 84, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at First Community Village in Columbus, Ohio. She was born June 26, 1930 in Chemnitz, Germany to the late William Heinrich Ernst Schoepf and Antonie Martha (Leheis) Schoepf. Elfriede moved from Germany to Columbus, Ohio in 1954 where she became a citizen on May 2, 1960. She married her husband, Joseph Alpha Taylor on January 22, 1955. She retired as a seamstress from JC Penny’s in 2003. Elfriede will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Known as a strong independent woman with a beautiful smile who loved to cook and sew for those she loved. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Elfriede was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Joseph; siblings, Ilse (Albert) Hutchison and Ursula (Leslie) Parker; son, Ralph Taylor; granddaughter, Hilary Taylor and nephew, Heinz Schmidt. Surviving are son, Lessly L. Taylor; grandchildren, Heidi Taylor, Leslie (Nicholas) Vesha and Elyn (Amy Fannon) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Penelope and Henry. Family will receive friends, Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 12-1 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held at 1 PM. Interment to follow the service at Union Cemetery.
