Elizabeth Jean Bode

Elizabeth Jean Bode, age 82, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 12, 1928 to the late Carl and Eunice Wetzler. Elizabeth was a 1946 graduate of West High School and attended The Ohio State University and Columbus Business University. She earned a degree from Columbus Bible Institute. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Northwest Career Center and later retired, also taught at Columbus Business University for a time. Her true passion was teaching piano and organ lessons at her home for many years. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church and Powell Bible Church. In her free time she enjoyed music, painting, shopping, and her beloved cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bode. Survivors include her children, Linda Williams of Brooklyn, NY; Deidre (Rick) Fyffe of Columbus, Greg (Diane) Bode of Ft. Lauderdale. FL, and Brian (Marthamay) Bode of Westerville; grandchildren, Kelly Shilling, Dwight Hay, Adrian Hay, and Ryan Bode; great grandchildren, Stephanie Hay, and Sophia Palumbo.Elizabeth will be remembered as kind and generous, always going out of her way to help others. Most of all she was a wonderful mother. Family and friends may call Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger RD where funeral service will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 1:00PM. Pastor Tom Coffman and Rev. Merv Brereton officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
