

Elizabeth “Liz” Galbreath, age 93, of Columbus, OH, passed away January 8, 2025, at First Community Village, in Upper Arlington, OH. Born in 1931 in Detroit, MI, to the late Muir and Dorothy Lind. Preceded in death by her sister Peggy Klarr. Survived by children Laurie Galbreath, of Denver, CO; Lizanne Galbreath, of Rowayton, CT, and John W. “Squire” (Alison) Galbreath II, of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Daniel (Crispin) Nichols, Robbie Nichols, Taylor (Valeria) Nichols, Kyle Megrue, Chris (Sadhana) Megrue, Jack Megrue, Caroline Galbreath, John Galbreath III, Charlotte Galbreath, and William Galbreath.
Graduated from Kingswood High School in Michigan and Smith College in 1952. After college, she worked in Paris, France, for a year until moving to Columbus. She was a founding member of the women’s board at the Columbus Museum of Art and served as the President, was a past President of Riverside Methodist Hospital Foundation, and Women’s board at the Franklin Park Conservatory. She was a member of Junior League, Pleasure Guild, Childhood League Bd V and Bargain Box, First Community Church Group Y and her Couples Circle. She loved her family, animals, tennis, walks along the Scioto river, and the warm sun of Naples, FL.
Family will receive friends 2-5pm with a Celebration of Life service at 3pm, on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Darby House at Darby Dan Farm, 801 Darby Creek Dr. Galloway, OH 43119. Arrangements by Schoedinger Northwest. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the conservation initiatives at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in her memory at www.columbuszoo.org/donate.
