

Ellen Whalen Frey, born April 7, 1941 passed away on March 7, 2022 after a brief illness. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Thomas J and Catherine P Whalen. She was also preceded in death by her brother Thomas Whalen. Ellen is survived by her husband and constant companion of nearly 58 years, Perry Frey Jr. and children, Perry Frey III (Sara) and Jennifer Assaf (Alan), two sisters, Kathleen FitzGerald (Thomas), and Molly Giacco (John), brother-in-law Roy Cisneros, six grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ellen a high school graduate of the Beaumont School and a graduate from Barat College ('63) went on to teach prior to marrying her husband in 1964. The two eventually moved to Columbus, where Ellen had a successful career as a Real Estate professional for many years before finding her true passion as an interior designer and owning an antique shop, The Manor, with a group of friends. Ellen valued her relationships above all else, as evidenced by her many decades-long close friendships and family ties. An expert in all things decor and fashion, Ellen frequently said "Things of style have no fear of time." To her friends and family, who knew her not just for her taste but also for her warmth and kindness, Ellen was the epitome of style. True to her own words, her memory will be timeless among them. Ellen's life will be celebrated at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Dr. Dublin, OH 43017 Thursday, March 31 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1 at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 7179 Avery Rd, Dublin, OH 43017.
