Elnora Y. Wood

Elnora Y Wood, age 92, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Westminster Thurber Community. Elnora was born in Dunkirk, OH on September 13, 1920, the daughter of Mary Ruth (Weber) and Earl C. Yoakam. She was a graduate of Bliss College. Elnora was a member of the former Central Presbyterian Church, where she was one of the first female Deacons and taught Kindergarten Sunday School for many years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wood. Elnora is survived by her children Steven (Janice) Wood of Chillicothe and Linda Wood of Columbus; grandchildren David (Kim) Hottinger and Tammi (Roger) Winemiller; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and brother Virgil (Barbara) Yoakam. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm, Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Westminster Thurber Community’s Chapel, 717 Neil Ave., Columbus, OH 43215, (Enter off of Collins Ave) with Chaplain Mark Arni officiating. Private interment at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Life Care Fund c/o Westminster Thurber Community.
