She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on November 25, 1984 to Joseph L. Mas, and the late Beverly June (Shull) Mas. Emily was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School, and The Ohio State University. She completed the post-graduate paralegal school at Capital University Law School and loved her job as a Deputy Clerk for the Franklin County Municipal Court where she worked for over six years. At the time of her death, she was office manager for Queen Financial Group, LLC, where she was treated with extraordinary kindness.
Emily loved her daughter, Ariana Everly, more than anything. She hoped that she could have shared her love of animals and the outdoors with her little girl. Emily grew up both in Bristol, Pennsylvania, and Pataskala, Ohio where she lived on the family horse farm surrounded by all types of domestic and wild creatures. Often, when walking down the long driveway to catch the school bus, she would see the reflection of multiple raccoons' eyes in the trees shining through the early morning darkness. She always tried to get the bravest of the dogs, "Boo," to accompany her to the bus stop.
Emily was beautiful, intelligent, and well-liked by her coworkers, friends, and family. More recently she began to struggle with extraordinary challenges that seemed impossible to overcome. Nevertheless, she made a great and lasting impact on the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed, and always loved.
Emily is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly, her stepfather David Cimino, and her dear grandparents. She is survived by her daughter, Ariana Everly Arnold, her father, Joseph L. Mas, her sister, Sarah Shull (Mas) Bourgeois, her stepmother, Dr. Linda A. Mercadante, her stepbrother, David Mercadante Hamilton, and nieces and nephews Caroline, Genevieve, Gryphon, and Evie.
